My first interaction with Wymering Manor marked the beginning of a comprehensive and immersive exploration in which I fell into the architectural essence utilising a unique method - blind sketch recordings. This out-of-the-box methodology involves communicating with the space on a sensory level, emphasizing "feel with the breath," "touching lines," and "recording on sheet." The resulting images express a sensory interaction that enabled me to capture the authentic essence of the architecture in a surprisingly personal way.

expresses the essence of my endeavor, reflecting a purposeful attempt to explore the underlying nature of building free of visual prejudices. The approach entailed reliance on touch, sensation, and a tactile relationship with the environment, which went beyond the traditional way of ocular observation. This different approach allowed for more understanding and enjoyment of the place.

Wymering Manor exploration is represented as a transformational and immersive experience, with each precisely documented line on a sheet serving as an intentional history. Beyond visual aesthetics, the emphasis on touch and breath represents a tactile relationship with the manor's physical surroundings. The sheet's strokes serve as a means for building a deep relationship with the mansion, expressing its texture and structural intricacies through a sensory dialogue. Breath interaction serves as a rhythmic guide, resulting in a personal movement that shows the vibrating pulse within the supposedly motionless walls. Overall, this exploratory technique promotes a multimodal knowledge of architecture, transforming documentation into a comprehensive encounter that captures the soul of a place in a tangible, perceptible narrative.

This experience investigation, documented through blind sketch notes, added a personal and subjective layer to my knowledge of the place in the area of architecture. It illustrates the strong connection between the observer and the environment,

emphasizing the importance of sensory awareness in determining one's view of a location.

To enrich to the context, I may go into specific architectural aspects that stood out to me throughout my investigation. The blind sketch recordings, in turn, functioned as a vehicle for capturing Wymering Manor's complex textures, spatial arrangements, and historical components. This detailed recording helps to create a more complete and lively narrative of my own encounter with the architecture.

Great drawings. and as Nigel below I'm interested to see where these drawings/work take you with altered furniture.
You have done some lovely 'blind observation' studies. Well done for these, they will provide a good basis for further reflection. I look forward to seeing more of your enquiries, e.g. altered furniture and associated references
