The alteration of the Earth's climate over the long term that affects both the average global temperature and the normal weather patterns. It is mostly brought about by human activities that produce greenhouse gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere, such as the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and agriculture. These gases trap heat, raising the planet's temperature, which has a variety of detrimental effects on the natural world and human societies.

There are many ways to observe the consequences of climate change, including:
1. Increasing temperatures: Since the 19th century, the Earth's average temperature has risen by roughly 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit), and by the end of this century, it is expected to have risen an additional 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit).
2. More common and severe weather events: As the climate warms, this could result in more common and severe weather events like heat waves, droughts, floods, and storms.
3. Sea level rise: Glaciers and ice caps melt as temperatures rise, raising sea levels. In coastal places, this may result in floods, erosive processes, and saltwater intrusion.

4. Modifications to precipitation patterns: Precipitation patterns may vary as a result of climate change, causing droughts in certain regions and more powerful rainstorms in others.
5. Ecosystem changes: Climate change may also result in changes to ecosystems, including timing adjustments for seasonal activities like plant growth and bird migrations as well as the extinction of some species.

In order to combat climate change, it's critical to minimise greenhouse gas emissions by taking a number of steps, such as switching to renewable energy sources, increasing energy efficiency, and cutting back on waste. Additionally, adaptation strategies, like seawall construction and better water management, can aid communities in preparing for and addressing the effects of climate change.
